Aleisia Gibson Wright
For Woodcliff Lake Council
Aleisia Gibson Wright is running for Woodcliff Lake Borough Council because she believes great communities are built through clear communication, engaged neighbors, and leaders who listen before they act. She wants Woodcliff Lake to remain a place where families put down roots and where every resident has a real voice in shaping its future.
Aleisia has called Woodcliff Lake home for nearly a decade. As a neighbor, she sees what makes this borough worth protecting and the opportunities ahead to make it even stronger, and she believes that work starts with keeping residents informed and involved every step of the way.
Committed to Woodcliff Lake
Her roots here run deep. Her son Josh, a 2025 Pascack Hills High School graduate, now plays college football. Her daughter Makenzie is a senior and cheerleading captain at Pascack Hills. Her husband Tony is an AAU basketball coach and serves as an athletic director at a private school, and her mother Gwen, a retired high school English teacher, is a substitute teacher at Dorchester Elementary and Woodcliff Lake Middle School.
The family also includes two Bouvier des Flandres who have grown up in town: Princess Jinger of Bogota and Countess CocoNib of Woodcliff Lake. This is a community where her family is invested every single day, and with two children who have spent years at Pascack Hills, she has a firsthand view of how much local students have to offer the borough.
Her Priorities For Woodcliff Lake
Aleisia's platform is built on three commitments: listening to residents, protecting what makes this town special, and keeping communication clear.
Community Engagement
Aleisia believes local government works best when residents feel seen, heard, and connected to the decisions shaping their community. She wants to create more ways for people to get involved outside of formal council meetings, including neighborhood listening sessions and open conversations that make participation feel approachable rather than reserved for the same small group. Her goal is equal representation for seniors, young families, newer residents, and working professionals, built through partnerships with schools, houses of worship, and community organizations.
Protecting Our Environment
Growth is part of progress, but Aleisia believes it has to be balanced against the character and natural beauty that make Woodcliff Lake feel like home. She supports stronger tree protection policies with meaningful replacement requirements, environmental impact review before projects are approved, and smarter development practices such as native landscaping and green buffers. For her, ecology belongs in every major planning discussion from the start.
Modern Communication with Residents
Aleisia wants residents to feel connected to their local government, with information that is timely, clear, and easy to access. She is especially excited about a potential student civic communications initiative with Pascack Hills High School, where students could help modernize borough social media, summarize council meetings in plain language, and build tools like text and email alerts for important updates. It is a way to invest in the next generation of civic leadership while strengthening how the borough communicates today.
The family also includes two Bouvier des Flandres who have grown up in town: Princess Jinger of Bogota and Countess CocoNib of Woodcliff Lake. This is a community where her family is invested every single day.
About Aleisia
By profession, Aleisia is the founder and President of GW Health Agency, a strategic communications agency. She is an internationally recognized, award-winning leader in healthcare communications, and her career has been built on one core belief, proven across more than two decades in the field: the right message, delivered the right way, changes outcomes.
She brings that same thinking to her candidacy. Clear communication, genuine community engagement, and a seat at the table for every resident guide how she approaches local government, and how she intends to serve on Council.
